» And now, a letter from Big Bob Mansfield

Apple’s Bob Mansfield (via The Next Web):

We’ve recently heard from many loyal Apple customers who were disappointed to learn that we had removed our products from the EPEAT rating system. I recognize that this was a mistake. Starting today, all eligible Apple products are back on EPEAT.

Strange. Apple never shifted direction on anything when Steve Jobs was in charge.

Glenn Fleishman and Matthew Panzarino speculate on Twitter that Apple was looking for an updated standard from EPEAT, possibly looking to mitigate some of EPEAT’s hostility to non-upgradeable hardware.

You know, for the environment.
