The New York Times reports on the “not with a bang but with a whimper” death of the Zune.

The Zune was a failure in the market, coming too late to stop the iPod juggernaut and falling short of the high bar Apple had set.

Apple’s been setting a lot of high bars, apparently.

You know, high is a relative term. The bars that Apple sets are not objectively high, they’re just higher than everyone else’s.
