Jon Mitchell on why he’s psyched for the Apple Watch:
What I don’t like about the iPhone is that it’s too obtrusive. The act of pulling the phone out of its pocket and putting it back requires all these little movements and careful manipulation. Every nerve and muscle involved in that process is taken away from the adventure.
As long as it’s not constantly barraging you with notifications, a watch can make accessing your tech easier, more natural and more socially acceptable, exactly what Google Glass and Bluetooth headsets do not. Mitchell’s concern is advertising on the Watch, which I agree with.
Still, my watch battery ran out shortly before Christmas and I didn’t get it replaced. Now I’m just holding out. Instead of spending $20 on getting the battery replaced, I’ll put it toward an Apple Watch. Which, unfortunately, won’t even pay for the tax, but still…

Jason Snell has some astute thoughts on the rumored 12-inch MacBook Air-whatever:
If Gurman’s reports are accurate, this new model pulls the MacBook Air line away from the MacBook Pro. Ben Bajarin:
Any intent to buy Apple Watch surveys are not credible until well after the product is released. Right now our focus is market sizing.
I’ve never put much stock in intent to buy surveys at all — I’ve been “intending to buy” a bitchin’ double-handed broadsword since I was 12 — but certainly the ones you see right now about the Apple Watch are worthless.
