» Being and nothingness
Neven Mrgan’s Watch-less review is very Zen.
I stayed up until midnight on launch day so I could order an Apple Watch and get it as soon as possible (late May). So, here’s my first week without an Apple Watch.
What is the sound of one wrist Watchless?
» Us
I’m fascinated with two moments in the middle of the “Us” Watch ad that show people in the midst of some kind of relationship problems. They’re surprisingly true-to-life and make the ad so much more poignant. They also provide a hysterical contrast to the creepy stalker relationship in Samsung’s watch ad.
» The Talk Show #117: I Touched Ron Johnson
I joined John Gruber on this week’s edition of The Talk Show where we talked Apple Watch, Apple’s quarterly results and that time I touched Ron Johnson.
» Layers
Layers is a design conference with a terrific lineup going on in San Francisco the week of WWDC. Definitely looks like a great way to spend the week if you didn’t score a WWDC ticket. Or, heck, if you did. Since Apple can’t create more space for WWDC attendees, it’s nice these conferences are springing up to coincide. It’s a good week to be in San Francisco.
» Paving the path to their doorway
The Verge’s Tom Warren covering Microsoft’s Build conference:
iOS and Android developers will be able to port their apps and games directly to Windows universal apps, and Microsoft is enabling this with two new software development kits. On the Android side, Microsoft is enabling developers to use Java and C++ code on Windows 10, and for iOS developers they’ll be able to take advantage of their existing Objective C code.
Trying to make things easier for developers was long one of Microsoft’s pillars. It’s never really made for better applications but it did make for more applications and at this point they’ll take what they can get in mobile.

Huge iPhone number, iPads down again, Macs flat.
» Turning This Car Around #59: Let’s Get Physical. Or not.
On this week’s edition of America’s most ripped dadcast, we talk about physical education. And Apple Watches.
» Passive-aggressiveness, a two-act play
Act 1: Goldman Sachs estimates that Google only makes 5 percent of its mobile search revenue from Android and that 75 percent comes from iOS.
Act 2: this Google maps image find.
UPDATE: Looks like this was a prank, probably by someone outside Google. Still passive/aggressive, just not by Google.

Apple Watch orders, Lex’s MacBook Pro and crappy Bluetooth headphones.
