» ‘What is the future of the iPhone 3GS?’

Matthew Panzarino looks at a question I’ve been asking myself. Except when I ask it I say to myself “Whither the iPhone 3GS?” because that’s how I do. I’m just fancy that way.

As of around 30 days ago, the iPhone 3GS has been on the market for three years straight. This is the longest any of Apple’s iPhones has been for sale and makes it, I believe, the longest selling smartphone model still offered from any major manufacturer.

I know some people complain about the performance on the 3GS. The few times I use my old 3GS my son uses as an iPod touch it does seem slower than the iPhone 4 or 4S, but I doubt it’s less capable than many other phones that cost nothing on contract.
